Our drive as ACT is to enable youth to pursue excellence in their art and to create career ready graduates.

The ACT Nyoloha Scholarship Programme is an undergraduate scholarship programme aimed at providing opportunities for school leavers to pursue a tertiary qualification in the creative and performing arts. The programme brings together talented, ambitious young people from across the country and introduces them to the world of professional arts and gives the participants a valuable experience to work with other future artists from different backgrounds.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  • The ACT Nyoloha Scholarship Programme participants will be determined by a hybrid audition process:
  • PHASE 1: Upon application, performing arts candidates are required to upload video submissions of their audition pieces and visual/digital arts candidates are required to upload portfolio submissions that will be adjudicated by the relevant arts professional.
  • PHASE 2: Candidates that score highly for their video and portfolio submissions will be invited for an online interview via Zoom during April and& May 2023.
  • Successful programme participants will participate in bi-weekly workshops from 10 June – 19 August 2023.
  • Scholarships finals week will be held in Johannesburg, Gauteng, from 2 – 7 October 2023.
  • ACT will cover finalists’ meals, travel and accommodation costs during the finals week.
  • The final programme adjudication and gala performance /showcase as well as the winner/s announcement will take place on Saturday, 7 October 2023.
  • Scholarships may only be utilised for Digital/Performing/Visual Arts studies at a South African tertiary or accredited institution. Winners will be at liberty to choose the performing/visual arts course and institution, from the institution list, Addendum 1,  included in the application guidelines document.
