Arts & Culture Trust invites programme facilitator/mentor proposals for the upcoming ACT Nyoloha Scholarship Programme
The Arts & Culture Trust (ACT) Nyoloha Scholarship Programme (NSP) is an undergraduate scholarship programme, aimed at providing opportunities for qualifying school leavers to pursue a tertiary qualification in the visual and performing arts. In partnership with Sun International and Nedbank, as well as Business and Arts South Africa (BASA) the Arts & Culture Trust (ACT) Nyoloha Scholarship Programme (NSP) 2023 open call closes on 31 March 2023.
Through the programme, talented and ambitious young people from across the country are introduced to the world of professional arts by participating in a 3 month biweekly professional mentorship and training programme on Saturdays for three months so that it doesn’t interfere with school or work. The programme consists of online training and mentorship with industry experts, and the participants will be evaluated on certain tasks every month.
A final week of intense training, talks, and performances, culminates in a showcase and exhibition. Working with industry professionals and experts, participants gain valuable experience as does the opportunity to work with other future artists from different backgrounds.
The Arts & Culture Trust (ACT) invites proposals for the ACT Nyoloha Scholarship Programme for the 2023 iteration of the programme for four short-term positions i.e. Visual and Digital Arts Mentor, Performing Arts Assistant Mentor, Artistic Director and Stage Manager.
The Visual and Digital Arts Mentor and Performing Arts Assistant Mentor for the ACT Nyoloha Scholarships Programme are required to provide programme participants theoretical instruction as well as practical skills and techniques through conducting bi-weekly workshops from 10 June to 19 August 2023.
The Production Artistic Director that will be responsible for, and facilitating the Performing Arts segment of the programme ‘finals month and preparation’, which will be hybrid (online and in person) from 1 September – 6 October 2023; as well as conceiving, developing, and implementing the artistic vision and focus for the ACT Nyoloha Scholarship Programme Gala Event on 7 October 2023.
The Production Stage Manager will be responsible for coordinating the ACT Nyoloha Scholarship Programme production from rehearsals to performances, working alongside the Artistic Director to ensure that the production is successful. The Stage Manager will be working with the Artistic Director during finals week from 1-6 October 2022 to execute the technical support for the artistic vision and focus for the ACT Nyoloha Scholarship Programme Gala Event on 7 October 2023.
