DALRO is a multi-purpose copyright society established in 1967 which administers various aspects of copyright on behalf of authors, artists and publishers. They provide the link between Rights Holders and the Licensees who use their works.
DALRO’s main areas of administration are reprographic reproduction rights (from published editions), public performance rights (musicals, plays & poetry) and reproduction rights (granted for both publishing and copying) in works of visual art.
DALRO has mandating agreements with local and foreign authors, agents and publishers and a number of foreign bilateral agreements. This guarantees their clients have access to a vast repertoire of copyright protected works.
DALRO’s musical theatre licensing services include the supply of scripts, musical materials and other theatrical resources to schools and theatres, both amateur and professional, in Southern Africa. The DALRO catalogue represents thousands of works, including a large repertoire of South African plays and musicals, hits from the Broadway and London stages, musical revues and shows written or adapted for young performers.
